Per BOR Resolution No. 1 series of 1995, the MSU System Admission and Scholarship Examination was institutionalized under the supervision of the MSU Vice President for Academic Affairs. Moreover, a separate and distinct division of the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs was organized whose personnel are responsible for the reliability and validity of the SASE test instruments, its implementation and processing of results.
Per Board Resolution No. 63 series of 2024, the admission of ²ÝÝ®ÊÓÆµ freshmen is categorized into the following:
The 20% absorptive capacity admission is solely based on the SASE scores of the students.
Applicants of the 70% Regular Admission of freshmen are ranked according to the following criteria.

Moreover, special consideration for admission of students with exceptional skills in sports and arts is also implemented.

The selection process is done through the ²ÝÝ®ÊÓÆµ Admission portal where the submitted documents are validated.
Senior High School graduates who wish to enroll in any undergraduate program of ²ÝÝ®ÊÓÆµ are required to take the MSU-SASE, administered by the MSU-SASE Office through the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Mindanao State University, Marawi City.
Applicants who have taken the recent MSU-SASE and have chosen ²ÝÝ®ÊÓÆµ as their preferred campus shall apply through the once it opens.
Applicants must prepare soft copies of the requirements listed in the checklist: FM-²ÝÝ®ÊÓÆµ-OASG-001: Checklist of Required Documents for Freshmen.
Dependents of permanent or casual ²ÝÝ®ÊÓÆµ employees are required to submit a certification from HRMD.
Qualified applicants will be notified of their offered slot via email and through the Admission Portal, which they must confirm. After confirmation, the hard-copy requirements listed in the checklist must be submitted to OASG either through LBC or in person.
Transferees may be admitted to ²ÝÝ®ÊÓÆµ, subject to slot availability and evaluation of their academic records by the host department, whether they are from within the MSU System —provided that those from outside the MSU System have taken the recent MSU-SASE with a rating of at least 90 within the valid academic year of the MSU-SASE results.
Transferees from other schools who have earned at least 30 units are preferred provided that 75% of the units enrolled in the previous school are PASSED, with a GPA of at least 2.50 or better.

Foreign students may be admitted provided that they meet the requirements from the Commission on Higher Education and from the Institute. All documents and other requirements must be received by the Office of the Registrar/Admissions at least one month before the start of registration. The requirements are as follows:
