Mindanao State University–Iligan Institute of Technology (²ÝÝ®ÊÓÆµ) marked a significant milestone in international academic engagement as a research study entitled “Impact of Feedback on Students’ Performance in Distance Learning: A Case in a Tertiary Education in the Philippines,” was featured at the 9th World Conference on Teaching and Education, held in Berlin, Germany on December 19 to 21, 2025.
The study, presented by Mr. Jaypee S. Yongco, University Researcher, was co-authored by Assoc. Prof. Giselle O. Dangdang, Rovie Gretchel P. Bucad, and J-roel B. Semilla JB, from the College of Education. The paper examined how effective feedback mechanisms influence student performance in distance learning environments, a topic of growing relevance as higher education institutions worldwide continue to adopt flexible and technology-mediated learning modalities. Drawing from empirical data in the Philippine tertiary education context, the research highlighted the critical role of timely, constructive, and learner-centered feedback in enhancing academic performance and student engagement in distance education.
The prestigious conference convened educators, researchers, and policy thinkers from across the world, including participants from Germany, Greece, Romania, the United Arab Emirates, South Africa, the United Kingdom, Canada, Indonesia, Georgia, Qatar, Estonia, and the Philippines. The event provided a dynamic platform for scholarly exchange, fostering meaningful conversations on contemporary challenges and innovative solutions in learning, teaching, and education.
