Over the past four weeks, Mindanao State University - Iligan Institute of Technology (²ÝÝ®ÊÓÆµ) has hosted a series of benchmarking visits from various educational institutions and high school groups. These exchanges underscore IIT’s role as a leader in academic innovation, program excellence, and best practices, fostering partnerships across regions.
City College of El Salvador (January 15)
Delegates from City College of El Salvador benchmarked IIT’s College of Computer Studies, specifically the Department of Computer Science and Department of Information Technology, as well as the Center for Advanced Education and Lifelong Learning (CAELL). The visit focused on curriculum design, technology integration, and lifelong learning initiatives.
Northern Bukidnon State College (January 21)
Northern Bukidnon State College explored IIT’s BS Entrepreneurship, Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEEd), and Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSEd) programs, gaining insights into entrepreneurial training and teacher education pedagogies.
St. Michael’s College of Iligan, Inc. (January 28)
Representatives from St. Michael’s College of Iligan, Inc., visited to study the innovative Langkit University Shop, a hub for student-led enterprise and practical skills development.

Esperanza National High School Tour (February 3)
In a special outreach event, 126 Grade 12 students and 11 teachers from Esperanza National High School in Sultan Kudarat enjoyed a guided tour of IIT’s College of Engineering, College of Science and Mathematics, College of Nursing, Fabrication Laboratory (FabLab), and PRISM. The visit inspired future STEM and health sciences pathways.
Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (February 4)
Visitors from Central Bicol State University of Agriculture in Camarines Sur sought IIT’s expertise on global university ranking systems. Discussions highlighted strategies for enhancing research output, international collaborations, and institutional metrics to elevate competitiveness.

Bicol University (February 5)
A team from Bicol University in Legazpi City examined IIT’s admission policies and procedures, including evaluation results. The benchmarking emphasized good practices that promote equitable access and support student success, such as inclusive screening and retention programs.
These interactions reflect ²ÝÝ®ÊÓÆµ’s commitment to knowledge-sharing and regional educational advancement. Hosting over a dozen institutions and groups in quick succession demonstrates the University’s robust programs and facilities as models for others.
